“These two Tamil students were killed at a police check point close to the University”

Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE)’s Ministry of Youth Affairs staged a rally on Tuesday, outside the Sri Lankan Embassy in London to protest the assassination of two Jaffna University Tamil students.

Women, children and men joined this rally, shouting stop the killings of Tamils, Tamils need Justice, Tamils need protection from the UN, etc. This rally coincided with the “Day of Mourning” observed by Tamils in Sri Lanka, which brought Tamil areas to a standstill.

These two Tamil students were killed at a police check point close to the University. These students were returning after studies.

Massive protests erupted in the North and East of the country against these killings. Tamil areas came to a standstill when Tamils observed mourning on Tuesday.

Thousands attended the funerals and still there is tension in Tamil areas.
