Tamils Begin Week of Mourning to Commemorate 8th Anniversary of Genocide: TGTE Parliament Meet in Special Session

Annual Mullivaikal Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Alush Gashi, who played a major role in the independence of Kosovo.

Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka and worldwide begin a week of mourning to commemorate the 8th anniversary of mass killing of Tamils in the final months of the war in 2009, which saw tens of thousands of Tamils killed and Tamil women raped by the Sri Lankan Security forces. According to UN’s Internal Review Report on Sri Lanka, around 70,000 Tamils were killed in the first six months in 2009. Attached: Documentary – Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields.

A recent report by the International Truth and Justice Project (ITJP) published details of Sri Lankan Military run “rape Camps”, where Tamil women are being held as sex slaves. This is one of the rare documented “Rape Camps”, since Japanese Imperial Army held mostly Korean and Chinese women as “Comfort Women” during the Second World War.

The Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) commenced the week of mourning to commemorate the 8th anniversary of the killings by convening a special session of the Parliament. The Speaker of TGTE Parliament Mr. Balachandran, Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament paid their respects to those killed.

During this special session, Prime Minister Mr. Rudrakumaran stated:

“This is a week when we carry the full dimension of the distress, sorrow and the sense of loss from Mullivaaikal and the remembrance of the painful last eight years”. He went on to add “This is also a week when we find a way to channel the deep pain and sorrow that remain frozen in our hearts, and through the expression of such grief renew and recommit ourselves to embark on the struggle for justice with new courage and vigor. During this week, we remember our kith and kin killed in such unjustifiable ways, and the Maaveerar (heroes) who made the greatest sacrifice, and in their memory we pledge that we shall give meaning to their noble vision.”

He added that TGTE will not rest until Sri Lankan political and military leaders are brought before International Criminal Court (ICC) or before a Special Sri Lanka ad hoc International Tribunal to face justice for committing mass atrocities against Tamils, amounting to War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide.

He further added “We grasp every opening and opportunity that we find to place our sacred call and the just claim of a Nation in search of a State as a remedy for Tamil’s safety and security.

The Annual Mullivaikal Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Alush Gashi, who played a major role in the independence of Kosovo and served as an advisor to the first president of Kosovo Ibrahim Rugova. The Lecture will take place at University of California in Los Angeles, USA, on May 18th at 6:00 pm. First Lecture was delivered by former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark.

உணர்வெழுச்சியுடன் முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் நினைவேந்தல் வாரம் : நாடுகடந்த தமிழீழ அரசாங்கத்தின் அரசவை கூடியது !!

மே-18 தமிழீழத் தேசிய துக்க நாளினை மையப்படுத்திய முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் நினைவேந்தல் வாரம் உணர்வெழுச்சியுடன் தொடங்கியது.

மே-12 முதல் 18 வரை முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் இனப்படுகொலையின் நினைவேந்தல் வாரமாக கடைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு வரும் நிலையில் சிறப்பாக கூடிய நாடுகடந்த தமிழீழ அரசாங்கத்தின் அரசவை நினைவேந்தல் வாரத்தினை முறையாக தொடக்கி வைத்தது.

அரசவைத் தலைவர் நாகலிங்கம் பாலசந்திரன் அவர்கள் தலைமையில் இடம்பெற்றிருந்த இச்சிறப்பு அமர்வில் பிரதமர் வி.உருத்திரகுமாரன் நினைவேந்தல் உரையினை வழங்கியிருந்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து அவைத்தலைவர், அமைச்சர்கள், அரசவை உறுப்பினர்கள் தங்கள் நினைவேந்தல் வணகத்தினைத் தெரிவித்தனர்.

தமிழர் தாயகத்தி
லும் முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் நினைவேந்தல் வாரம் உணர்வெழுச்சியுடன் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இது தொடர்பில் நாடுகடந்த தமிழீழ அரசாங்கம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள செய்திக்குறிப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாவது :

ஈழத்தமிழினத்தின் மீதான சிங்கள அரசினது கட்டமைக்கப்பட்ட இனஅழிப்பின் உச்சமாக மே 18, 2009ம் ஆண்டில் கொத்துக் கொத்தாக பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான எமது உறவுகள் படுகொலை செய்யப்பட்டனர். தமிழ்மக்களின் அரசியல் பெருவிருப்பினை வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்கான அரசியல் வெளியை உருவாக்கி நிகழ்வுபூர்மாக உலகிற்கு பறைசாற்றி நிமிர்ந்திருந்த நடைமுறைத் தமிழீழ அரசு அழிக்கப்பட்டு தமிழர் தேசம் சிங்களத்தினால் முழுமையாக ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்டது. இது தமிழீழம் நோக்கிய விடுதலைப் பயணத்தில் பெருந்துயர் எமை ஆட்கொண்ட துக்கநாள் !

இந்த நாட்களில் சிங்கள ஆக்கிரமிப்பாளர்களால் நரபலி எடுக்கப்பட்டு தமது இன்னுயிர்களை இழந்த எது உறவுகளையும் சிங்களத்தின் ஆக்கிரமிப்பை எதிர்த்து நின்று போராடி வீரச்சாவைத் தழுவிக் கொண்ட அனைத்து மாவீரர்களையும் நினைவேந்தி வணக்கம் செய்வோம் !

தமிழீழ தேசிய துக்க நாள்

முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் தமிழர் வரலாற்றில் ஒரு முக்கியமான ஒரு கூட்டு நினைவு ([Collective memory) ஆகும். யூதர்கள்மேல் நாசிகளால் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட இன அழிப்பு எவ்வாறு யூத மக்களிடையே ஒரு வரலாற்றுக் கூட்டு நினைவாக அமைந்ததோ அதேபோல தமிழர்களுக்கு, ஈழத்தமிழர்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, உலகில் வாழும் அனைத்துத் தமிழர்களுக்கும் முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் ஒரு முக்கியமான கூட்டுநினைவாக அமைகிறது. தமிழருக்கு எதிரான இனப்படுகொலையின் ஓர் இரத்த சாட்சியமாக இருக்கிறது.

துயர்தோய்ந்த, அவலம் நிரம்பிய கூட்டுநினைவுகள் ஒரு மக்கள் கூட்டத்தின் ஆழ்மனதில் காலம் காலமாக நிலைத்து நிற்கக் கூடியவை. வரலாற்றை மாற்றும் சக்தி கொண்டவை. யூத மக்களின் தமக்கான தனி அரசு என்ற கனவு நாசி இனப்படுகொலையின்பின் தான் சாத்தியமாகியது. பலஸ்தீன மக்களுக்கென எதிர்காலத்தில் உருவாகவிருக்கும் தனிஅரசும் இம் மக்கள் தாம் அனுபவித்து வரும் ஒடுக்குமுறைகளின் கூட்டுநினைவினை அரசியல் இயக்கமாகத் தொடர்ச்சியாகப் பேணிவருவதனால்தான் சாத்தியமாகப் போகிறது. ஈழத் தமிழ் மக்களுக்கும் இவ்வுதாரணங்கள் மிகவும் பொருந்தப் போகின்றன.

தமிழீழத் தேசிய துக்க நாள் நாம் துயரத்தால் துவண்டு போகும் நாள் அல்ல. மாறாக நமது மக்கள் அடைந்த துயரத்தையும் துன்பத்தையும் அவலத்தையும் நமக்குள் உயிர்ப்பாய் உள்வாங்கி நாம் ஒரு தேசமாக பாதுகாப்பாகவும் கௌரவமாகவும் வாழ்வதற்கு சுதந்திரமும் இறைமையும் கொண்ட தமிழீழத் தனியரசினை அமைப்பதே ஒரேவழி என்பதனை நமக்குள் நாமே உறுதி பூணுவோம் என நாடுகடந்த தமிழீழ அரசாங்கம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
